Improving transparency in the global value chain in the pharmaceutical/chemical sector
The Challenge
To improve cost transparency and simplify the adjusted calculation of product margins at the group level, a solution for reporting and consolidating global value chains was developed and implemented using an SAP® add-on solution. The add-on application was installed on the SAP®BW system and fully integrated into the SAP®-Systemlandschaft system landscape, which consisted of various SAP®R/3, S/4HANA and NON-SAP® systems. The solution extracts and interprets data and values from financial and logistics applications to derive global end-to-end value chains, calculate net profits and eliminate intercompany profits.
